Abuser Intervention Program
The Abuser Intervention Program is a 26 week group that focuses on identifying abusive and controlling behaviors, examines influences that contribute to violence, including discussions of the effects of violence on victims and children as well as learning alternate behaviors and non abusive actions. The focus of the group is to take accountability for violent behaviors.
The groups are held virtually through a platform called GoToMeeting which you can download for free on your phone or computer. There is no need to sign up or create an account, you just need the app to connect with the groups every week. We utilize the Wheels of Abuse & Equality handouts in almost every class. We recommend familiarizing yourself with these resources to better prepare yourself for group.
AIP is for perpetrators of intimate partner violence. If your victim, was not an intimate partner, anger management may be the class for you.
Court orders, protective orders etc, do not need to be sent in. Please be sure to include your Probation Officer contact information if applicable.
Participants are allowed 3 absences before discharge. All fees must be paid in full prior to receiving a letter/certificate of completion.

Anger Management
This program is for those who have had negative outcomes related to anger or violence and have not been involved in a domestic violence instance. This course is 12 sessions and also done 100% virtually. The purpose is to assist participants in understanding that anger is an emotion and how to make better decisions when under stress or experiencing negative emotions. WE do offer separate groups for men and women. You may be a self referral for this program. The total fee is $330 for the intake and the 12 sessions.

Payment Information
An initial payment of $80 is required to cover your intake appointment and the first two sessions. $30 for the assessment and then each class is $25.
Online Payments: Click here to navigate to our payment portal to pay with a credit or debit card. This can be done in one payment or in partial payments throughout the duration of class, as you prefer. When submitting payment online, you will be prompted for a password, it is as follows: SMCFA123 (all capital letters). Should you not be able to pay electronically, you can submit a money order instead.

The money order should be made out to: SMCFA. You must include a piece of paper in the envelope with your name on it so we can be sure we know it's yours as the money orders themselves only have a signature line, and the signatures are often unreadable.
Once we've received the Consent of Release of Information, the Participant Contract, both screenings, and you've made or sent in your initial payment of $80, our program facilitator will be in contact with you to schedule an intake appointment with you.
